Mahoora Elite Camps - Udawalawe National Park
All-inclusive Private Tented
Safari Camp Experience
Escape into 12 acres of bush forest, home to elephants looking for water, wild boar trying to sneak into the staff kitchen, confident peacocks showing off to photographers, toque macaques playfully creating a leaf rain, shy ring-tailed civets watching you from the shadows… and more. Go ahead and unwind in a tranquil paradise on the very borders of the Udawalawe National Park, where birds and butterflies from the Park wind up just outside your suite-tent. Within the campsite’s private forest is a lake teeming with pelicans, storks, and lapwings, and on the borders is a stunning rock cliff –frequented by elephants – with a part aerial view of the National Park.
Mahoora Elite & Premium in Udawalawe is something out of a wilderness fairy tale, clad in 21st century.
Unique advantages of Mahoora Elite – Udawalawe
Mahoora Tented Safari Camp Udawalawe is located in a thicket on the eastern boundary of the Udawalawe National Park, surrounded by bush forest. Tents are spread out in order to ensure complete privacy and a true wilderness setting. As the south and west boundaries of the park have no forest patches, our campsite location was carefully handpicked to amplify the feeling of being in the midst of nature.
Our safari camp is situated on the border of Udawalawe National Park to the west, and it neighbors a village with local residents to the east. There are farmlands to the north and south. Although the surroundings are generally very quiet, occasionally you may hear the sounds of a religious ceremony or a local gathering from a distance, especially if they are using loudspeakers. This is a part of the local culture, and we appreciate your understanding. The camp has a supply of earplugs available upon request in such situations.
